Ready for a paint jobDated: 11/01/07
After weeks of sanding and preparing, Mai Tai is ready for paint
Work on Mai Tai is moving faster now as the sanding of the hull and deck are finally complete. The spray guns are ready and we are waiting for a break in the weather to shoot the first coat of hi-build undercoat. We will be sanding again after we paint but it will be a lot easier than sanding off the old two-part paint.
All of the deck hardware has been stripped in order to make the spray-painting process go smoothly. We will have to re-bed everything again after the painting is finished. However, we see this as an opportunity to check all fastenings and fittings.
Now let's see how kind the weather is going to be as we are not under cover.
